I do the design and the engineering that makes a system work. This involves site meetings with clients, site inspections, initial design, application for connection, detailed design, solving of installation problems and final sign-off. I have also set our design and documentation guidelines, and make decisions on products and technologies. Currently, I am working on a couple of new construction sites, an Electric Vehicle charging network for 500 cars, and a 2MW shopping centre with embedded metering.
I have over 25 years of industry experience, from software engineering to construction, and, over the last decade, solar. Each experience continues to add value today, especially my experience in construction which has been a real boon to my current career in solar. Knowing about concrete and roof construction has been a great asset in site meetings. Within solar I have done both domestic and commercial, systems ranging from 100kW (around 330 panels) to 2 MW (6,600 panels).
“My skills? Being able to recognise a problem, and then propose a cost-effective solution. And presenting to clients.”
